Guests in Ohlone Territories

We intend to be good relatives

We are grateful to be guests in Ohlone Territories

La Raza Centro Legal was born in unceded Ramaytush Ohlone Nation lands and our main office sits at the border of the American Indian Cultural District and the Calle 24 Latino Cultural District in the Mission District. We recognize that there is a delicate balance to being a good guest and properly honoring our Ohlone relatives and neighbors. We seek to act in a good way and show the proper reverence, respect, and reciprocity as defined by Indigenous political and spiritual governments. We support the sovereignty and self-determination of all Indigenous peoples and thank Ohlone relatives for permitting us to live harmoniously in these beautiful Ohlone lands.

Ohlone lands and people are sacred

We recognize that these Ohlone lands are sacred. We recognize the Ohlone people that belong to these lands, the waters, and all the sacred elements of this place are all sacred. As many of us are displaced relatives from the south of Turtle Island and Abia Yala, we seek to engage in community stewardship with our Ohlone relatives in a good way while offering our deepest gratitude and reciprocity. We ask all our relatives, friends, and neighbors to learn how to live and walk in a good way; in the way Ohlone people ask and to show reverence and gratitude to Ohlone peoples and territories.

Be a Good Relative: Reciprocity & Giving

Please show your respect and support Ohlone people's stewardship by supporting, donating, re-matriation, Indigenizing, & giving land back. Here is more information and links to Ohlone and Native organizations you can support:
