Centro Legal's Immigration and Naturalization Unit provides educational workshops to the community, naturalization services, services specifically designed for battered immigrant women, and one-on-one legal assistance in a variety of immigration related matters. Centro Legal's immigrant rights project, INS Watch , immediately responded to the emerging crisis resulting from changes in US policies following the tragedy of September 11, 2001 by increasing educational outreach to the community, focusing on detention practices of the INS and detained immigrants, and ensuring that the City of San Francisco reaffirm its City of Sanctuary and INS Raid Free Zone ordinances.
